Expert Tips That I Recommend

  • Do not overmix the crab; gently stir it with seasoning and chives.
  • It is advisable to remove the omelet from the heat while eggs are still moist and glossy. As they continue to cook in residual heat, they will result in a tender texture.
  • Avoid overmixing eggs to enjoy a tender, fluffy omelet texture.
  • Make sure the crabs are well drained, as excess moisture can affect browning and prevent the cheese from melting.

FAQs About Crab Omelet

Can I add imitation crab?

Yes, of course you can use it. But there will be a slight difference in the flavor, as imitation crab will be milder and sweeter than the real crab.

Why is the omelet watery?

If the omelet turned out watery, it was probably because the crab was not properly dried, the vegetables were undercooked, or you were cooking at a high temperature. Do check all these factors before preparing the crab.

How do I prevent an omelet from sticking?

To prevent it from sticking, make sure the pan is well heated and grease it with butter. This way, the omelet will come off easily.

Why does my omelet break when I fold it?

The omelet usually breaks when it’s overcooked, or the filling is too heavy. Avoid overfilling it with the crab mixture, and keep the eggs slightly soft.
