A perfect blend of savory flavors with the richness of Arborio rice, lobster risotto is a must-try. The best part of this recipe is the combination of Arborio rice’s soft texture and lobster’s succulent flavor.

The recipe calls for simple cooking that delivers a flavourful result. You can enjoy this exotic dish as a comforting meal with your favorite side. So, do not wait any longer and just get started to enjoy the savory flavors in every bite.

In this article, I’ll share a mouthwatering lobster risotto recipe. This recipe creates a symphony of tastes that will leave you craving more. So without any further ado, let us see how to make a delicious lobster risotto.

    Expert Tips That I Recommend

    • When choosing rice, pick arborio rice, as it is high in starch and creates a creamy texture. The best part is that the grains remain firm in the center.
    • Sauté the rice in butter for 1-2 minutes, until it becomes translucent around the edges. It enhances the flavor and helps the rice retain its texture.
    • Avoid overcooking the lobster, as it can turn rubbery.
    • Add some cold butter and Parmesan off the heat to create a rich, glossy finish. It adds a rich, creamy texture.
    • Let the risotto rest before serving so the flavors meld and the texture settles without drying out the rice.

    Storing And Reheating This Recipe

    Storing

    • Allow the risotto to cool completely. Then place it in an airtight container and refrigerate it. Consume within 3-4 days. Keep the temperature at 4°C or below.
    • You can also store it longer by freezing the risotto in a freezer-safe bag for 1 month.

    Reheating

    • Oven: First, preheat the oven to 175 degrees C. Then add the risotto and a splash of broth to an oven-safe dish and cover it lightly with foil. Now heat for 15-20 minutes. Stir it halfway through until steaming hot.
    • Stovetop: Add the risotto and some broth to a skillet. Then gently warm for 5-8 minutes. Keep checking it while it is covered, and keep stirring.

What To Serve With This Recipe

Amazing Lobster Risotto is a creamy dish with earthy seafood flavors, so serve it with a light, refreshing side like crisp green salad tossed in lemon vinaigrette for bright contrast to the buttery rice. Roasted asparagus, steamed green beans, or sautéed spinach also make perfect accompaniments, adding freshness and flavor with little effort. For extra flavor, serve it with warm, crusty garlic bread or a slice of crunchy baguette to soak up every last spoonful of the creamy risotto. A glass of chilled iced tea or Sonic water also pairs well.

    Ingredients

    • Lobster Stock from the lobster shells
    • 1 Onion Minced
    • 2 Lemon Slices
    • 3 Cloves of Garlic minced
    • 3 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme
    • 1 Cup of Arborio Rice
    • 2½ Cups Lobster Stock
    • 1 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
    • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Oregano or Thyme leaves
    • Zest of 1 lemon
    • Chilli flakes optional
    • Drizzle of lobster butter

    Equipment

    • Large Saucepan
    • Pan
    • Bowls

    Method

    • Carefully remove the meat from the lobster shells. Reserve the shells and use them to prepare a flavorful lobster stock.
    • Gently poach the lobster meat in butter until cooked through. Reserve the remaining butter. If possible, use the same skillet to prepare the risotto so it picks up all the delicious lobster flavors. Add some of the strained lobster butter to the skillet. Add the lemon slices and onions, and cook for 5–6 minutes, or until softened.
    • Stir in the garlic and fresh herbs, and cook for 2 more minutes, until fragrant. Add the rice and sauté it in the butter mixture for 1–2 minutes, allowing the grains to become lightly toasted before adding the stock.
    • Gradually add the warm lobster stock to the rice, stirring constantly over low heat. Once the liquid is absorbed, add another portion of stock and keep stirring. Add the stock in three additions, letting each portion absorb before adding the next. Add up to another ½ cup of stock if needed, depending on how creamy or saucy you prefer the risotto.
    • Once the rice is tender and creamy, stir in the Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, and lemon zest. Season to taste.
    • To serve, spoon the risotto onto plates and top with pieces of the butter-poached lobster. Finish with a drizzle of the reserved lobster butter for a rich, silky finish
