Flavorful Round Roast Beef Recipe

Round Roast Beef Recipe

Almost everyone loves beef and there are many different ways to cook beef. Today, I will tell you a unique beef recipe known as top round roast beef. This top round roast beef is very flavourful and delicious compared to other beef dishes because this recipe is prepared from the upper thigh of the cow’s hindquarters that is the most flavourful part of the whole cow. This dish is mostly popular among Dutch people because it is very easy to make.

Expert Tips That I Recommend

  • Press the seasoning so it adheres well during roasting.
  • Avoid covering it while it cooks, as an uncovered roast develops a better crust.
  • Make sure you place the roast on a rack in the oven so that heat circulates properly.
  • You can save pan juices and drizzle them over the beef at the end to keep it moist.

Recipe Variation for Different Diets

Storing And Reheating This Recipe

Storing

  • First, let the recipe cool down completely, then wrap it tightly in cling film. Now place it in an airtight container and keep it in the refrigerator. It will remain fresh for up to 2 to 3 days. You can store the pan juices in different containers so that the texture is not affected.
  • For a longer duration, you can freeze it. Add the roast to a freezer-safebag and store it for three months.

Reheating

  • Stovetop: Take a skillet, put the sliced roast in it, then add a splash of broth and heat for 3-5 minutes. Turn it once until well heated.

Why is my beef not tender?

The beef turns out to be chewy and not tender when you cook it for a longer duration, or it has not been dried properly.

How can I get a better crust on roast?

The easiest way to enjoy a crispy roast is to make sure the beef is dry, season it well, and cook it uncovered. I hope these simple tips will save your beef and make it more crispy.

Should I trim the fat before roasting?

Yes, you can trim the excess fat layer. But if a thin layer is present, do not remove it as it adds flavor to the recipe and keeps the beef moist.

No, do not flip it constantly. Let it cook from one side, then only turn it. This way it cooks evenly and retains its juices.
