ToggleExpert Tips That I Recommend
- Fry the curry paste for 2-3 minutes to release the aroma and add rich flavor to the curry.
- Add coconut milk to enjoy a rich, creamy gravy.
- Do not boil the gravy after adding the coconut milk, as it may curdle.
- Add the cooked turkey to the gravy at the end, as overcooking can dry it out.
- Always chop the vegetables into the same size so they cook evenly.
Recipe Variation for Different Diets
- Gluten-Free Version: Replace regular coconut milk with gluten-free coconut milk, and soy sauce with tamari in the recipe. Double-check whether garam masala is gluten-free.
- Keto Version: Instead of shallots, add green onions; check if garam masala is sugar-free or not. Replace regular coconut milk with unsweetened coconut milk, and use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.

Storing And Reheating This Recipe
Storing
- Let the turkey curry cool completely. Then transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate. Eat it within 3-4 days.
- For longer storage, you can also freeze it. Add the turkey to a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 2 to 3 months.
Reheating
- Oven: First, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Then transfer to an oven-safe dish and cover loosely with foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes.
- Stovetop: Take a skillet, add the turkey along with the curry. Then gently warm for 5-8 minutes. But keep checking it to prevent it from overheating.
What To Serve With This Recipe
Gordon Ramsay’s Turkey Curry pairs well with cranberry sauce or Romesco sauce. If you want to add something fresh and light to the Turkey, enjoy it with egg roll or a juicy, crunchy walnut apple salad. Roasted vegetables are my all-time favorite side to enjoy with it.

FAQs About Gordon Ramsay’s Turkey Curry
Why should I fry curry paste first?
Frying is important because it helps release the oils and aroma of lemongrass, ginger, and garlic, making the curry more flavourful and adding depth to the dish.
What if my curry is too thick?
If the curry is too thick, add a splash of broth. Keep adding it and stir it till you get the desired consistency.
How do I avoid vegetables from turning mushy?
Add firm vegetables like beans and broccoli first, then add soft vegetables like spinach so they don’t turn mushy. I hope this simple technique saves your vegetables from turning mushy.
Why does the curry taste bitter?
The curry usually tastes bitter when you add too much lemon, burn the garlic, or use more red chili than advised. To prevent it from turning bitter, fry the curry on high heat for a few minutes, stir it, and keep the seasoning in check as you add it.
