Paula Deen Heart Attack Burger Recipe

Paula Deen’s Heart Attack Burger uses two burger patties, bacon, cheese, and an egg. If you want to indulge in a Paula Deen-style burger, then this recipe is just for you. Start by placing one doughnut, then top it with one burger patty, an egg, and strips of bacon. Top it with another doughnut, sit back, and go for it.

Make sure the beef is 80/20 ground chuck. You want your burger juicy and flavorful, but you also don’t want it too greasy. Load up the burgers with all your favorite toppings. Just like Julia Child, we added bacon, cheese, avocado, tomato, and onions.

This post will show you how to make Paula Deen’s Heart Attack Burger from scratch. But fair warning – it’s not for the faint of heart! Scroll down to learn more about the recipe, equipment, and ingredients.

Expert Tips That I Recommend

  • Mix the meat gently while making patties to keep the burgers tender.
  • Season the patties just before cooking. It helps create a flavourful crust on the patty.
  • A lightly toasted donut perfectly caramelizes the cut sides, which prevents it from becoming soggy.
  • Try frying eggs properly, as a perfectly cooked yolk makes it easy to eat.

Recipe Variation for Different Diets

  • Keto Version: Make sure the seasoning added is sugar-free. Swap regular buns with keto buns; instead of glazed donuts and English muffins, use keto muffins and donuts.
  • Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free buns instead of regular buns. Make sure the seasonings you add are gluten-free.

Storing

  • Let the burger cool completely, then pack it in plastic wrap. Then store it in the refrigerator, and it will remain fresh for up to 3 days.

Reheating

  • Stovetop: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add the burger patty, and cook for 2-3 minutes. Also reheat the bacon until crispy, and toast the donut halves before assembling.
  • Air Fryer: Reheat the burger patty and bacon at 350 degrees F for 3-5 minutes. Then warm the donut halves for the last 1-2 minutes.

You can devour the Paula Deen Heart Attack Burger recipe with crispy French fries or onion rings. If you want to add something different, try pairing with coleslaw and garden salad. Well, my all-time favorite side is a fruit smoothie.
