ToggleExpert Tips That I Recommend
- You need to remove the silver skin, as it allows the seasoning to penetrate deeper and the ribs to become more tender.
- Make sure you coat the sides of the ribs properly with dry rub.
- Add some apple juice or apple cider vinegar to create a moist cooking environment.
- Always let ribs rest for some time before you slice them, as it lets juices settle and makes them easy to cut.
- Add a thin layer of sauce on ribs during the final phase of cooking, as it makes it extra flavourful.
Recipe Variation for Different Diets
- Keto Version: Swap brown sugar with monk fruit sweetener, and make sure BBQ sauce is sugar-free.
- Gluten-Free Version: Instead of regular brown sugar, use gluten-free brown sugar and add gluten-free smoked paprika, granulated garlic, and ground mustard in the recipe. Double-check whether the BBQ sauce is gluten-free.

Let us know how it was!FAQs About Ribs On A Gas Grill
Why are the ribs dry?
The ribs usually turn out dry if they have been overcooked or cooked at a high temperature. To get tender, juicy ribs, you need to keep the ribs tightly wrapped during the first half of cooking, as they return moisture.
Why is my BBQ sauce burning?
Most barbecue sauces contain sugar that tends to burn during high heat. So it is advisable to apply it during the last few minutes of cooking, so it doesn’t burn.
Why do the ribs fall apart when I move them?
If the ribs tend to break, it means they are way too tender. You can use a spatula or tongs to safely transfer them so that they don’t break.
Why did the meat pull away from the bones?
Some shrinkage is quite normal during the cooking process. If there is complete shrinkage, it means the ribs have been completely dried out.
